Food Box Delivery Volunteer Help make a difference in the lives of individuals transitioning from homelessness to stable housing. Ryandale Transitional Housing is looking for volunteer drivers and delivery assistants to help transport food boxes from the food bank to residents living in our transitional and supportive housing homes. Volunteers work in pairs, with drivers operating the Ryandale van and assistants helping with loading, unloading, organizing, and delivering food boxes to residents. This is a hands-on opportunity to provide practical support while helping ensure residents have access to nutritious food. We are looking for reliable, friendly, and compassionate volunteers who enjoy helping others and being part of a team. Drivers must have a valid driver's licence and a safe driving record. Orientation and training will be provided. Your time can make a real difference. By volunteering, you are helping reduce food insecurity, support dignity, and strengthen the community for people rebuilding their lives.

Position Responsibilities

Position Activities & Responsibilities Pick up food boxes from the food bank using the Ryandale vehicle. Safely transport food boxes to Ryandale transitional and supportive housing locations. Work as part of a two-person delivery team with a driver and assistant. Load and unload food boxes safely and efficiently. Provide a friendly, respectful, and welcoming interaction with residents. Follow Ryandale’s food delivery procedures and safety guidelines. Maintain confidentiality and respect residents’ privacy and dignity. Communicate with Ryandale staff regarding deliveries, resident needs, or any concerns. Help keep the delivery vehicle and food delivery areas clean and organized. Attend required orientation and training before beginning volunteer shifts.
