Position Responsibilities
Applicants should be proficient in or have experience in the following:
Financial Management:
● Develop and maintain the Victim Services budget in collaboration with the
Executive Director and Board of Directors.
● Oversee financial planning and ensure alignment with the service’s goals
and mission.
● Monitor cash flow and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and
compliance with policy and procedures.
● Manage banking relationships, including opening and closing accounts,
and overseeing investments if applicable.
Financial Reporting:
● Prepare regular financial reports for the board of directors, detailing the
organization's financial status, income, expenses, and variances from
budget.
● Present financial reports at board meetings and provide explanations for
any discrepancies or significant changes.
● Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance
with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Internal Controls:
● Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's
assets and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
● Review and approve financial policies and procedures, ensuring they are
up-to-date and adhered to by staff.
● Conduct periodic audits or reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal
controls and make recommendations for improvement.
Fundraising and Grant Management:
● Collaborate with the fundraising committee to develop fundraising
strategies and initiatives.
● Monitor fundraising activities and track revenue from various sources,
including donations, grants, and events.
