Make a difference in your community by volunteering with The Food Sharing Project! We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to support Student Nutrition Programs in schools throughout Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington. Your Role Could Include: -Preparing and serving meals or snacks. -Delivering food to classrooms. -Supporting meal programs that ensure no child goes through their school day hungry. Volunteer with The Food Sharing Project – Help Feed Students in Schools!

Dates and Times

The time commitment is flexible and depends on your availability and the school's needs. Volunteers typically give a few hours a week during school hours, which are generally between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. We will work with you to find a schedule that fits your availability and meets the needs of a school near you. Whether you can help once a week or more often, your contribution will make a meaningful difference!

Required Qualifications

Volunteers must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Background Check to participate. Those volunteering at schools in Kingston will need to obtain this from the Kingston Police Force, while those volunteering in Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington will require it from the Ontario Provincial Police. Additionally, volunteers should have a willingness to learn, follow school policies and procedures, and work collaboratively as part of a team to support the success of the Student Nutrition Program. Guidance on obtaining the background check and necessary training will be provided to ensure you are prepared and confident in your role.

Position Responsibilities

Volunteers with The Food Sharing Project will play a vital role in supporting student nutrition programs in schools. Responsibilities may include preparing and serving nutritious meals or snacks, delivering food to classrooms, and assisting with in-school meal programs. Volunteers will work alongside school staff and coordinators to ensure students have access to healthy food in a welcoming and stigma-free environment.
