Key Responsibilities
1. Organizational Leadership & Strategy
-Provide proactive leadership to guide KIMRI’s activities, priorities, and stakeholder relationships.
-Ensure initiatives align with KIMRI’s mission to advance EDII in Kingston.
-Work collaboratively with the Chairperson and board members, who provide strong support and practical expertise.
-Represent KIMRI publicly and advocate for its purpose, visibility, and impact in the community.
2. Governance & Compliance
-Serve as a full member of the Board of Directors.
-Ensure timely completion of Corporations Canada reporting and compliance requirements.
-Support board development and help maintain an inclusive, diverse board representing Kingston’s communities.
3. Program Oversight & Coordination
Support, organize, or oversee several ongoing initiatives, including:
-Informant Interview Process: Assign, monitor, and support board members conducting interviews with key EDII-related organizations across Kingston.
-Grant Scoping Task Group: Organize and track progress on grant research and submissions.
-Queen’s University Student Practicum: Coordinate student work and keep the board informed.
-St. Lawrence College Student Projects: Oversee digital marketing or other practicum projects and maintain communication with student groups.
4. Community Engagement & Stakeholder Relations
-Build relationships with local institutions (e.g., school boards, municipal entities, colleges, universities, EDII-focused organizations).
-Promote KIMRI’s work and identify collaboration opportunities.
-Learn and stay current on the EDII landscape in Kingston and help position KIMRI as a trusted partner and resource.
5. Organizational Development
-Contribute to shaping KIMRI’s emerging structure, strategy, and long-term capacity.
-Support communications efforts, digital presence, and social media visibility.
-Encourage a culture of hands-on collaboration—KIMRI’s board members often go beyond governance to “roll up their sleeves” and help advance projects.
