Information Desk volunteers complete one shift per week at either Hotel Dieu or Kingston General Hospital. These volunteers are at the main entrance, providing support and directions primarily to those entering the hospital for an appointment or to visit an in-patient.

Dates and Times

Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts are available. Commitment is 3 hours per week for at least 6 months.

Required Qualifications

Volunteers are required to complete an online application, health screening and criminal records check. There is also a comprehensive orientation and training process. Position Responsibilities

Information Desk volunteers are ambassadors for Kingston Health Sciences Centre. These volunteers have excellent communication skills, are able to provide clear and concise directions to clinics and are welcoming and outgoing. Volunteers are also required to be 'computer savvy', able to navigate databases and websites in order to assist the public.
