Tall Ship Expeditions Canada - Brigantine has been delivering immersive experiential outdoor education programs aboard the Tall Ship St. Lawrence II for over seventy years. The charity has a strong track record of delivering sustained, life-changing, positive impacts on participants, and is constantly evolving and growing. Operating a platform like the Tall Ship is not without cost, and our respect for the grants and donations that support the organization is critical, which is why we are always working to assure that those funds are spent wisely. The Finance Committee is the groups tasked with helping the Board of Directors to understand the organizations financial situation. Working with our Treasurer and Administrator, the Finance Committee is tasked with interpreting the charities financial situation, needs, and opportunities, tracking financial data, and assuring the information used to create reports is accurate. The Finance Committee exists within a broader committee ecosystem. Within the TSEC, committees are empowered to undertake meaningful work that is critical to the success of the charity. The Finance Committee is a hub that interacts with the Operations, Programming, and marketing Committee to create budgets that reflect the capacity and needs of each element of the charity. Members of the charity also have access to our waterfront offices at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, as well as access to on-the-water events, sailing, and educational programs.
