About Compassionate Communities Kingston Canada (CCKC):

The Compassionate Communities movement was founded in Australia over 20 years ago to celebrate care for one another, making it easier for us to give and accept help from each other. Compassionate Communities Kingston was created in 2017 to bring the global compassionate communities movement to Kingston. We are inspiring intergenerational compassion by providing older adults with knowledge, connection, and support, promoting vitality, purpose and a sense of wellbeing. We are mobilizing citizens to help provide knowledge and information on services available to anyone in need. Caring for others is everyone’s responsibility. Want to join our movement? Our Mission:

OUR VALUES Compassion – Our actions will encourage a community that facilitates, supports, celebrates and care for one another during life’s most testing moments and experiences. Community Vitality – Our actions will empower people and create a sense of belonging for the community to adapt and thrive. Collaboration – Working together creates abundance for all, not just a few. Our actions will be the catalyst to connect community organizations and empower individuals to thrive during all natural cycles of sickness and health, birth and death, love and loss. Inclusion – Diversity will be leveraged to create a fair, healthy and high performing organization. We will ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities for participation. Empowerment – We will strive to ensure individuals and groups feel safe, respected, engaged, motivated and valued for who they are and their contributions to the community and organizational goals.
