Queen's University Health Sciences Experiential Learning Centre

About Queen's University Health Sciences Experiential Learning Centre:

The Health Sciences Experiential Learning Program (HScELP) provides hands-on learning opportunities that help students, professionals, and organizations develop and practice essential clinical skills in structured, supervised environments. Through experiential learning, HScELP helps prepare participants for real-world challenges while creating meaningful opportunities for community members to contribute to education and professional development.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to create meaningful experiential learning opportunities that connect learners with community members, allowing participants to share their lived healthcare experiences and perspectives while helping students develop essential skills in supportive, structured, and supervised environments. Through these experiences, we aim to foster empathy, confidence, and a deeper understanding of patient-centred care while preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals for real-world practice.

How You Can Support Us:

Individuals can support HscELP by volunteering their time and lived healthcare experiences to help educate the next generation of healthcare professionals. Volunteers may participate in educational sessions involving simulated clinical interviews or non-invasive physical examinations, providing students with valuable opportunities to practice their skills in a supportive, supervised environment. Individuals can also support our mission by sharing our volunteer opportunities with friends, family, and community organizations, helping us connect with more people who are interested in contributing to healthcare education.
